Raid Expedition: Demiplane of Blood

•June 14, 2012 • Leave a Comment

Hail Pak!

Over the past several weeks; we have been having a BLAST learning the Raid Expedition: Demiplane of Blood and notching our belt with a few 2.5 Epic Augs.

I’ve enjoyed the older content and even though some people think its trivial at 95, several of the events still pose quite a challenge (especially with lower numbers and multi-boxers).  Demiplane Tier 1: Hatchet the Torturer  still hits for 100k if players miss one of their multiple emotes (which can still 1-shot a level 95). Some of the other events such as Demiplane Tier 1: Wailing Sisters are timed and require pin-point accuracy for the win.

Some players in game think the Deimplane Raid is waist of time, but they couldn’t be more wrong. The 2.5 Aug only has benefit when the players actually have their Epic equipped, however their is one class that STILL chooses to hold their Epic verses any piece of end game raid gear…. the Necromancer!  The 2.5 Aug gives Necros an additional focus boost that effects their high level DoTs giving even MORE DPS!

The expedition is a nice challenge for the causal gamer and it was a surreal experience learning the mechanics of the raid.  I had a great time and look forward to more in the near future.

Raid Results this week: We started raiding on Monday and did a few events each night.  For a casual gaming guild in the EverQuest Shard; we did most of the Demiplane events with 4-7 players each night (not counting boxed alt characters).  Some events couldn’t be boxed due to the mechanics of the Event (ie. Hatchet does different emotes to each character)

Tier 1:
Demiplane Tier 1: Graniteclaw   = SUCCESS
Demiplane Tier 1: Hatchet the Torturer = SUCCESS
Demiplane Tier 1: Redfang    = SUCCESS
Demiplane Tier 1: Wailing Sisters   = SUCCESS

Tier 2:
Demiplane Tier 2: Devlin Rochester   = SUCCESS (Dropped the PAL RNG SHD BRD BST 2.5)
Demiplane Tier 2: Roley and Adrianna   = SUCCESS (Dropped the CLR DRU SHM 2.5)
Demiplane Tier 2: The Performer   = SUCCESS
Demiplane Tier 2: Tris Wallow III = SUCCESS

Tier 3:
Demiplane Tier 3: The Master = SUCCESS (NEC WIZ MAG ENC 2.5 and TITLE for Raid Leader)

– If the Raid Leader successfully hands in all of the Tier 1 drops and says the correct phrase before engaging “The Master” he/she is also given a title.
– Barbadis Received: “The Dark Savant” for doing the commands correctly, which also resulted in the additional 2.5 for pure casters.

RAID: Korafax Event: Venom Lord Ksathrax and Pallorax

•May 10, 2012 • Leave a Comment

Hail Pak!

Raid tonight was scheduled on 5/9/12 at 8:30pm EST in Korafax, Home of the Riders. The scheduled raid event was Venom Lord Ksathrax (Normal and Hard Version).

Comments: The raid went very smooth and we had a GREAT turn out! The strat was pretty easy and everyone followed suite with balancing the health of the 2 bosses, hammering down the adds, and making sure not to cure the dots.

Since we hammered through the Venom Lord so quickly, we decided to knock off the Hard version of Pallorax the Soul Slayer in case some members didn’t get the flag from last week.

Great job everyone and really looking forward to next week. Powertail is scheduled to hail Raid Expedition: Crystallos, Lair of the Awakened around 8:30pm EST on 5/16/12.

Sincerely,

Pak’Cafan Anniversary Raid: Steel Behemoths (OPEN RAID)

•March 29, 2012 • Leave a Comment

Hail Pak!

We were scheduled on 3/28/12 at 9pm EST for the 11th Anniversary Raid: Steel Behemoths!  Reward is your choice of 2 different augs upon completion.  A chest also appears with 2 loots in it.

Raid Comments: We had 21 Pak members initially show up for raid.  I’m pretty sure we would of gotten the win, but it would of been a really tough fight on the final named.

I decided to open the raid up in /general for some extra players to also enjoy the evening.  We met some new players and had  very smooth Raid.  Total count was 44 when we started and got to 49 when we finished.

Great job everyone! =)

Everyone in Raid had their choice of an Aug:

Polished Stone of the Eleventh Hour
Golden Nugget of the Eleventh Hour

Stay posted on the Raiding Schedule for future fun raids!

Pak’Cafan Anniversary Raid: Steel Behemoths

Hail Pak!

We were scheduled on 3/21/12 at 9pm EST for the 11th Anniversary Raid: Steel Behemoths!  Reward is your choice of 2 different augs upon completion.  A chest also appears with 2 loots in it.

Raid Comments: Personally, I had a great time last night.  We were a bit unorthodox in the beginning because out main tank was probably asleep at her keyboard (lol Kesh!).  Rather than waiting too long, we formed up in PoK and decided to use 3 high level Mage Pets as the main tank.  There are pros and cons for pet tanking but the night was designed to have some fun.

Once we all zoned in, we gathered our forces, stationed our positions, and the shook the earth in the arena!

There are 11 clockwork bosses total which increase in difficultly the further you progress.  The raid is also allowed to take one 7-minute break if they desire.

The first few were quite easy and gave us a rhythm for our strategy.  It definitely got harder with pet tanking against the Torrent who used “Grasping Vortex“, which pulled raid members in towards the mob.  HOWEVER!! when all hope seemed to be lost, Keshua (Main Tank) and Ribosome (Cleric) appeared!  We quickly got them added adjusted for the remainder of the mobs.

The last mob was a fun fight and though we suffered a few losses, we got that sucker down!  Great job everyone and congrats on your shiny new Aug Reward!

Chest Rewards:

Everyone in Raid had their choice of an Aug:

Polished Stone of the Eleventh Hour
Golden Nugget of the Eleventh Hour
